Up The Creek Mountain Biking 2007
Scott Burkhardt is now in charge of the organization and planning of this year’s Up the Creek mountain bike rides. Barry Faecher and other experienced mountain bikers will be providing short clinics on techniques and joining us on many of the rides.  There is no charge to participate and membership in UTC is optional.  Standard bike safety gear is required (ie helmet, eye protection, hydration equipment, etc.)
The rides are designed to allow as many people as possible to join in the fun with the main focus on the beginner and intermediate rider. The early rides are very easy, both in a technical sense and a cardiovascular sense. Unless there is a holiday or something unusual, ALL RIDES ARE SCHEDULED FOR MONDAY NIGHTS, meeting at 5:45 PM, and riding promptly at 6:00 PM. For early season rides we’ll move the start times earlier to allow for the limited amount of daylight. Emails will be sent via the UTC Yahoo Groups list announcing the rides, with time/meeting place/ride difficulty info. There will also be some Saturday rides of longer duration.
As participant’s skills and fitness improves, the rides will become progressively more difficult.  If you have an intent to join in, please don't miss the early rides. We’ll also revisit some of the easier rides during the season.
Advanced riders are welcome to join us and help out, but remember that the focus is to excite the beginner and intermediate rider so that we'll have more and more mountain bike buddies to ride with. We’ll also make an attempt to tailor the rides so both the novice rider and the more advanced riders can get enjoyment. Where trail conditions and rider attendance allow, we’ll do a split group.
After each and every ride we'll hit a local bar/restaurant for more fun. Hope to see you all out on the trail! For questions or to let us know that you would like to try out the group, contact Scott Burkhardt at mtnscott@msn.com. For more information on Up the Creek go to www.UpTheCreek.Org.
